It is called “Open for Business” and it is a comprehensive tool you can use to create a disaster recovery plan for your business. What is more, this valuable service is free of charge. • As many as 90% of small businesses do not have a business continuity plan in place.

What and Who is IBHS?

• IBHS is an initiative of the insurance industry to reduce deaths, injuries, property damage economical losses and human suffering caused by natural disasters.

• IBHS is a non-profit research and communications organization committed to institutionalizing natural disaster protection as a public value.

• IBHS is headquartered in Tampa Bay, Florida. It’s members are made up of more than 100 of the country’s leading property-casualty insurers and reinsures. It also has formal partner agreements with may other organizations, such as the American Red Cross, SBA and American Society of Civil Engineers.

Earlier this year IBHS met with representatives from Farmers to discuss “Open For Business”, an internet-based disaster recovery and risk assessment too they (IBHS) had developed.
