On a rainy Jan. 27 in 1968, my then-fiance Nancy and I were married, so today is our 44th anniversary.
Of course, I ALMOST forgot, but was saved by several things, and thought I would pass some tips along to my fellow guys on how to remember the day in time to avoid an anxious moment or two...
1. Program a reminder into your Smart Phone, Computer Calendar AND your email program.
2. Tell a friend to remind you. :-)
3. Sign up for coupons from favored restaurants.
One should work, but sometimes sometimes we need all three, with No. 3 being the lifesaver.
No. 1 works most of the time, but sometimes we are too conservative in our programming and set the reminders for a couple days ahead, giving ourselves ample time to forget again.
2. Friends can be unreliable or, they can be like the reminder in No. 1 and tell you too many days ahead so you promply forget as the day arrives.
However, if you also do No. 3 at enough restaurants, you are bound to get more than one email right on time reminding you of the anniversary special you are entitled to.
Hope this helps, and now I have to stop my web design work and scrub up for dinner. Hmmmm. What coupon shall we use?
